Realism

-A Story of an Hour-

-She could see in the open square before her house the tops of trees that were all aquiver with the new spring life. The delicious breath of rain was in the air. In the street below a peddler was crying his wares. The notes of a distant song which some one was singing reached her faintly, and countless sparrows were twittering in the eaves.
There were patches of blue sky showing here and there through the clouds that had met and piled one above the other in the west facing her window-

The evidence that i found explains in detail the scenery out of the characters window which is an example of realist because they like specific detail.

-When she abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over and over under her breath: "free, free, free!" The vacant stare and the look of terror that had followed it went from her eyes. They stayed keen and bright. Her pulses beat fast, and the coursing blood warmed and relaxed every inch of her body-

I think its kind of good to be detailed about curtain things and let people see the truth in thing. This text of evidence show how she felt reveled of her husband.

-The battle with Mr Covey-

-Mr. Covey took up the hickory slat with which Hughes had been striking off the half- bushel measure, and with it gave me a heavy blow upon the head, making a large wound, and the blood ran freely; and with this, again told me to get up.-

The way the realist wanted people to see every thing in detail can get emotional. I like their style and I think its better to see things in detail than to be naive about things. The text explains how a slave got beat for obviously getting sick. Its unbelievable how people can be so cruel and heart less.

-At this moment I resolved to go to my master, enter a complaint, and ask his protection. In order to [do] this, I must that afternoon walk seven miles; and this, under the circumstances, was truly a severe undertaking-

The slave wants to solve the issue of getting protection because he is being beaten. As I said before the realist have a good point on showing detail but it can get emotional.

Black Panther

In my opinion the movie Black Panther is a good example of realism because the movie is very detailed. The movie explains how the panthers came to be and their struggle to get their. It was a movement that consisted of African Americans fighting for their rights. The movie isn't censored and it is why I consider it to be realism the detail that is seen is bizarre, these innocent people getting killed for no apparent reason and beat for just being born different.

Dark Romanticism

I don't necessarily consider my self either Transcendentalist or Dark Romantic. I can say that their are certain things I agree with each one but their are also things that I don't agree with so I don't consider my self either one.

-When his dominions were half depopulated, he summoned to his presence a thousand hale and light-hearted friends from among the knights dames of his court, and with these retired to the deep seclusion of one of his castellated abbeys-

I heard "The Masque of Red Death". What I got from this story was how Poe acknowledged evil. I think this story is a good example in his way to contradict the transcendentalist because hes trying to show the reader peoples minds don't just revolve around pure good it as well has evil in it.

-The Raven-

Over all I liked the poem. I did find it hard to believe in the bird, well more like the meaning the poet was trying to give the raven. I can see how this poem can be against transcendentalist but in my opinion its kind of hard to catch on to it in poems or stories.

Transcendentalism

-Nature-

*I am not solitary while I read and write, though nobody is with me. But if a man would be alone, let him look at the stars*

I liked the piece of writing. Over all it was good and these lines personally graded my attention from everything else. I like nature and I think everything about it is beautiful except for bug!! I think the writer did a wonderful job in depicting the stars because most of humanity enjoy them the most. Like some teenage love bi

In my opinion Nature is transcendentalist because they believe in hard work so by being in nature and working hard god cant speak to them.

-Self-Reliance-

*If you would be a man, speak what you think today in words as hard as cannon balls, and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said today*

I really liked this piece of writing. The author was so intense in his explanation that this essay really caught most of my attention. In my opinion their are lots of people afraid to speak up especially in what they believe in and this author was just plain blunt about it. He even gave direct names of people who were misunderstood but kept fighting for what they believe in.

Self-Reliance is a form of transcendentalism because of the way the writer portrays self judgement. Since they believed that god spoke to people through hard work and their minds this piece of writing clearly portrays it.

-Resistance To Civil Government-

*Government is best which governs not at all*

I can agree and disagree with this writing. I like the fact how specific the author gets with details about the government. I think though that government should exist but to a certain extent because people get greedy and only look out for their own opinions.

In my opinion this is a good form of transcendentalism because they don't believe in a ruling government.

Wilderness

The hard work that man was doing can easily be applied to the transcendalist. He made his house with his bare hand and caught his food the same way.
